Compress PDF
To 100 KB, to 200 KB — for portals and visa forms.
Shrink a PDF to fit an upload limit: visa portals, government forms, email attachments, job applications. Pick a target — under 100 KB, 200 KB, 500 KB — and the compressor finds the best quality that fits.
Compression runs on our server with a real PDF engine: images are downsampled and re-encoded, duplicate objects removed, but text stays text — sharp and selectable. The file is deleted from the server immediately after conversion.
How it works
Drop a PDF into the box above.
Choose a target size or “just make it smaller”.
Click “Compress” and download the smaller file.
Why this tool
Text stays selectable
Unlike rasterizing compressors, ours keeps the text layer intact — the PDF is still searchable and copy-pasteable.
Target-size mode
Portals demand “under 200 KB”? Set the target; the engine steps down image quality only as far as needed.
Deleted right after
Files are processed in memory-backed temp space and removed the moment your download is ready.
Frequently asked questions
How much smaller will my file get?
Scanned documents typically shrink 3–10×, image-heavy exports 2–5×. A file that is already mostly text compresses less — there is simply less to squeeze.
Will the text stay selectable?
Yes. Compression re-encodes images inside the PDF but leaves the text layer untouched.
What if the target size is impossible?
You get the smallest version the engine could produce, and the size is shown before you download — nothing is silently upscaled or cut.
What happens to my file on the server?
It is processed over TLS in temporary storage and deleted immediately after the result is handed to you. We keep no copies and no content logs.
Is there a file size limit?
Up to 100 MB per file — enough for long scanned contracts. Larger files: split first, compress parts, merge back.
